Great if you don't know much about AR's (2009-11-01)

Required reading if you're delving into AR's for the first time. If you already have experience with them, you probably won't find much new here.

Well written (2009-12-04)

This guide leaves nothing to guess. It is written in plain understandable way. It will be a great help tom me as I build my first AR-15, as well as a reference for maintaining my ARs.

Wish I had found this earlier (2009-12-15)

I built my first AR-15 using this book exclusively. It was invaluable and I have friends who cannot tell my new rifle from factory built. Explicit instructions, easy to understand, this book is worth each and every penny. Others had told me how difficult building an AR-15 would be, but decided to take the plunge after reading this book. Great decision!!

Great tips, pointers, and details (2010-02-05)

This book offers great detail through both photos and step-by-step assembly instruction. The tips and cautions are real time savers and help to promote the premium assembly job. Whether you build or not, if you own an AR15 based rifle you should have this text on your book shelf. If you can afford it, also get the companion book (Owners Guide)offered by the same company.

To Easy (2010-02-18)

If you can't build an AR15 from the ground up with this book you might want to give up building ARs. This book is a total step by step guide with tones of photos. It is an invaluable book to have in your library.

Very good instructions (2010-09-18)

I used this to install an aftermarket trigger in an S&W AR-15. This instructions in the book were very clear, complete, and adequately detailed even for my novice experience level. There are lots of tips along the lines of "watch out for that little spring that will pop out unexpectedly". The author clearly has plenty of experience at this!

AR's for Dummies (2011-06-22)

I built 2 AR's with this book. I also have the M-14 owners guide and the 1911 owners guide by these guys.

Plenty of pictures
Tips are indispensable
Breaks it down Barney Style for those with less experience.

Good Overall, But Missing One Big Step (2011-08-14)

I bought this book to help me assemble my first AR. It is very easy to follow and has good photos and instructions.

However, there is zero information about how to install the front sight base. They mention that "most barrels come with the front sight base installed." As such, they just skip this step. Now days, most of the barrels I see for sale do not have the front sight base installed (mine included). So I had to research how to install it from instructions on the internet.

If they would have covered this step, the book would have got a perfect score!

THE REAL DEAL (2012-05-03)

Went to a gun show ,asked a book dealer there what he had on ar 15 builds and he said this book poeple swear by it . I bougut the book and read it over and over until I was ready to build ,since then I am on rifle 11. Yes this book is all you need ,wish it came out 25 years ago.

The most "Must Have" book on the AR-15/M (2012-10-13)

Awsome Book - excellent illustrations - above and beyond others with the "Checks, Notes, Pitfalls, Secrets, Tests, Tips, Tricks" notations. Excellent as a reference manual to have on and off the range. I like book form as it is easier to go back and reference diferent procedures and find problem solutions. Excellently written. Do not have one- get one, you will not be disappointed.

Awesome Book (2014-01-03)

This has all the details you can ask for. Several great tips and tricks with pictures for reference. It's a perfect book for the beginner.
