These are good stock kits. Nothing special, not outstanding quality but good. I had no issues with either kit. Would I buy them again? Yep.. they work.

This is my first foray into the wild wild world of the AR-15 platform modifications. The original stock on my Mossberg MMR Hunter was a bit too long and I decided on this adjustable stock to help me with that problem.



It installed easily, except for the 4 days lost looking for the detent and spring that I let fly (DOH!) and it works perfectly for my purpose. I like it and will recommend it if asked. My friend who was an Armorer in the Corps has already started with the butt jokes. What a kidder.

I apply Cerakote and get the pleasure of blasting the hard coat anodizing off of a lot of different parts from many manufacturers. The anodizing on the buffer tube is good. Should stand up to a lot of wear and tear. The stock is just your basic collapsible carbine stock. Nothing noteworthy about it. At the price it's like you're buying a quality buffer tube and getting the rest of the parts for free.

No holes through as other reviews have stated. Bought it anyway because of the price. Don't forget mil spec doesn't always mean the best. Went for function, and it does. Locks up solid, checkering on adjustment lever. Fit and function are smooth. No complaints.

Went back and forth on what type of butt stock to go with. Between a Magpul and this standard mil spec one. I feel I made the right choice. Very simple to install. Even better is that it's a tight fit with no rattle or exsessive play. Just what I needed and recommend.

This is a very nice basic stock . Can't beat it for the money. Comes with everything you will need . Yes , it has 4 out of the six holes that go thru , but you can tell its on purpose . I'm assuming it's for water to drain out quicker . I think its a better design than just the hole at the ends. Because the buffer pretty much covers one end , and there is just a small hole on the other end on commercial tubes . No where for the water to go fast .

Works great totally milspec. The buffer tube has a very thick finish and it is all very durable. I have seen some people complain that the hole for the last 4 stock positions have a small hole in the center that goes all they way through but it has no negative effect they simply function as extra drain hole like the one on the back of every carbine buffer tube

I just got this stock kit today. I was very disappointed. I have a TAPCO that seems like the same thing but it is not! I like Brownell's a lot, but this stock kit had to be made in China. It is total garbage. It is flimsy and feels very brittle. DO NOT BUY! If you want a decent collapsible stock without spending a lot of money, go with the TAPCO. This thing was not made in America. If it was I will just stick with Magpul.

Bought this when it was on sale. Surprising well constructed for the price. Went together very fast. held up at the range with over 200 rounds. The only down side was the buffer its self. It rattled when shaken but I put it in anyway. I could not hear it when my AR cycled at the range and it did not hurt my accuracy. But I though I would mention it anyway.

Looking for the standard stock, got a grade B product. The stock looks off from all the past stocks I've had. Weird look to the plastic, no traction checkering on the adjusting lever. The six holes for adjusting are not right either. 4 holes go all the way through, and 2 holes have smaller holes that go mostly through. I'm sure this is the evolution of a design, but it doesn't suit me. Steve from Florida outlined it very well.

Excellent Ar-15/m4 mil-spec stock.brownells brand is sinonimus of ultra Excellent Quality.highly recommended!!!!

standard mil-spec M4 stock, complete kit. mine did not rattle, and is tight in all of the locking positions. stock itself looks like it's made from that standard glass-reinforced nylon composition. the locking collar and end plate have the grayish parkerized finish. i think it's pretty hard to get one of these M4 stocks to not rattle, and this one doesn't, so i'm pleased.

Previous versions of this stock were great, but Brownell's have change their vendor, I've had about 25 of these in the past with no issues, but this last lot of 10 will be returned, not as pictured, weak non-reinforced area around pin boss. Stock fit is loose, Latch is loose and rattles, stock is poorly molded with many sharp edges and thinner webbing, no checkering on latch plate, and buffer tube is drilled clean through on four of the adjustment holes.

This stock is well made but rattles because the moving part fits loosely. It is easy to install and the directions are clear. Most other telescoping stock rattle too. For silent carrying buy the fixed stock.

Great quality M4 stock that performs as advertised.
Economy of price with a mil-spec tube fits my needs.
Couldn't be happier with this piece added to my AR build.

For the price, it is pretty darn good. The buffer tube is Mil Spec for I placed a Vltor adjustable stock on it and it rocks! Nice and tight with no jiggle. The adj stock which comes with it, is prettly good too. Standard issue on most AR products out there including ones from major brands. Keep up the good work Brownells by keeping us happy with good, reliable, and affordable products.

How you use the product: Using it on a Kel-tec SU16. The rifle is scoped.

Things that are great about it: It very well priced and fits the SU16 well. Everything about it seems solid. Nice to have 6 positions for adjustment.

Things that aren't so great about it: None

Could not be more pleased with the M4 stock assembly. First time building an AR-15 and the buffer tube and stock fit without any hassle. Truly an absolute deal for the price, you could spend more money on a buffer tube kit without stock but why would you?

All very high quality parts. not too much wiggle in the stock and tube. Overall for the price it can't be beat and I'm very satisfied. Highly recommended. I will use this kit for the rest of my builds.

I wanted a quality, basic collapsible stock for my build and got exactly what I wanted. For the price, its a deal for a mil-spec buffer/buttstock. The stock does have some wiggle but the same amount as my friends Magpul stock, nothing excessive. Perfect choice for the normal guy/girl who doesn't need a $2000 buttstock their weapon.

Install on my JD Machine lower was good, no problems.
